Alumni Kymber Cullum graduated in 2012 and went to Sam Houston State University and gained a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. While in high school Cullum participated in teen leadership, managed the soccer team and wrote and was the editor for the newspaper.
What have you done after high school?
“Since graduating from high school I’ve received my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Marketing,” Cullum said. “I graduated with my degree from Sam Houston State University this past August, Summer 2017. Since graduating from college, I’ve now been working at Yellowstone National Park in the hospitality industry.”
What made you want to do what you’re doing now?
“My want for joining the ranks of the hospitality industry came from my love for people and customer service,” Cullum said. “I’m so happy where I’m at and really enjoy knowing that I get to help make someone’s visit to Yellowstone great.”
What did you learn or experience in high school that affected you later?
“In high school I experience so many great memories but the most impactful thing was the amazing teachers I had,” Cullum said. “They helped me realize my greatest potential and encouraged me to go to college, which was something I never thought I’d do. Without those teachers and administrators, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
What are your plans for the future?
“My plans for the future are to continue to work, travel, and explore new places,” Cullum said. “I’m so happy to be where I’m at, but knowing there’s so much more the world has to offer encourages me to continue to move forward.”
What is your advice for current high schoolers?
“My advice to all the current high schoolers is to never doubt yourself, never limit yourself, and never stop pursuing your goals,” Cullum said.
