Alumnus Lauren Medina graduated in 2010 and went to the University of North Texas. While in high school Medina participated in choir and show choir.
What have you done after high school?(College, jobs, etc.)
“I went to college and graduated from the University of North Texas,” Medina said. “I am teaching special education for students online. I am a wife to my husband Jacob for 3 years in December and mom to 2 babies, one two year old, and one 8 month old.”
What made you want to do what you are doing now?
“I have wanted to teach since I can remember,” Medina said. “I realized I wanted to teach special education while doing fieldwork in college.”
What are your plans for the future?
“I look forward to continuing to teach, and maybe co-start a business down the road,” Medina said. “I look forward to watching my babies grow.”
What is your advice to current high schoolers?
“My advice is to enjoy the now,” Medina said. “Don’t be so worried, anxious, or concerned about your future plans. Things will fall into place, and usually differently than you imagined in your head.”
