Alumnus Erika Smith-Cason graduated in 2014 and currently attends Tarrant County College.
What have you done after high school?
“After high school I started a family, and will be returning back to college to get my real estate license as well as major in business management,” Smith said. “I am hopeful to one day remodel homes and sell them.”
What did you participate in high school?
“In high school I wanted to grow up and get out as soon as possible,” Smith said. “I worked a full time job starting sophomore year and as senior year approached I even used my senior release so I could work longer hours. Looking back now, I would’ve done sports, or really anything that got me more involved with my classmates.”
What made you want to do what you are doing now?
“I have always had a big interest in real estate and remodeling homes,” Smith said. “I think it’s one of the best feelings in the world to help people make their dreams possible.”
What is your advice to current high schoolers?
“Be involved in every aspect of high school,” Smith said. “Sports games, pep rally, student council. Go to homecoming and prom. Do the assignments because your teacher really isn’t that mean. My biggest regret is wanting to grow up too fast and not being a part of my class.”
